The Real Barrier Isn’t the Treatment — It’s the Drive
If you live in El Campo or the surrounding Wharton County area and you’re managing a diabetic foot wound or symptoms of poor circulation, you already know the challenge isn’t just the condition itself — it’s getting consistent care without spending your whole day driving to and from Houston. A wound that needs to be checked weekly is much harder to manage properly when every visit means an hour-plus drive each way. That’s exactly the gap HOPE Amputation Prevention Center built our El Campo clinic to close.
Coordinated Limb Preservation Care, Closer to Home
Our El Campo clinic, located inside Mid Coast Medical Center, offers the same core coordinated care model as our Houston location, including:
- Vascular evaluation and treatment for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) and circulation problems
- Podiatric care for diabetic foot wounds, ulcers, and related conditions
- Wound care management for chronic, non-healing wounds
Being Upfront About the One Difference: HBOT
The one service currently not offered at the El Campo location is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), which remains available at our Houston clinic. We want to be transparent about that rather than have it come as a surprise. If your treatment plan calls for HBOT, it doesn’t mean starting over somewhere new — our team coordinates that portion of your care directly with our Houston clinic, so your treatment plan stays connected under the same coordinated team, and you’re never left to figure out that next step on your own.
Why Local, Consistent Care Changes Outcomes
Limb preservation depends heavily on consistency — catching small changes early, keeping every follow-up appointment, and not letting distance become a reason to skip a visit. Having vascular, podiatry, and wound care available locally in El Campo removes that barrier for patients throughout the Coastal Bend region.
One Coordinated Team, Two Convenient Locations
Whether you’re seen in El Campo or Houston, you’re cared for by the same coordinated HOPE Amputation Prevention Center team and treatment philosophy — vascular, podiatry, and wound care working together, not in separate silos.
